When I had my boy I intended so much to breastfeed him, in fact I’ve told all the nurses before going to labour room not to feed my baby with formula milk. I was so confident that I could breastfeeding him as for obvious reason; my breast has become super size from size 32 to 36. I even brought the Avent Breast pump to the hospital.
When the nurse came with him for the 1st time to my room after 3 hours he sees the world to taste his ibu’s milk, I was so frustrated to know that I was unable to breastfeed. As I was unable to sit due to caesarian I tried to breastfeed him while lying down and I can see clearly that Hairee was so hungry and anxiously putting his mouth to my nipple with his eyes widely opened. He has tried a few times but as my nipples were too small and inverted he has finally gave-up and cried. Should I blame my gynea for not noticing and guiding me???? I never actually given-up that easily, I tried to use the breast pump while I was in hospital hoping for the miracle and my nipple could reshape (which actually I should do it starting from 2months pregnancy) which resulted I’ve to suffer very painful swollen breast for more than 2 weeks as the milk keep producing but no way out.
Nevertheless, it wasn’t the end of the world even though it was really breaking my heart. As Hairee was very hungry, the paediatrician could not help it but to feed him with formula milk. They have given him first with the Snow brand and later on Similac as the 1st one making his poo-poo very watery.
This is formula milk he has taken for the past 12months.
He likes it very much and suitable for him.
(The best part, we got a few free small tins every months when seeing pediatrician)
As he is turning one year old, I’ve tried given him a few brands like Abbott’s Eye Q Gain Plus and Enfapro mixing with old formula Similac as guided by paediatrician but both milks making his poo-poo very hard like ‘batu’. So, finally after trying on Mamil Gold, he likes it and most important his poo-poo is fine and solid. So for now onwards, we just stick to this. My boy is growing-up, beside milk I can always compliments his food with yogurt, solid foods and etc.
